Regulatory compliance is a risk which all organisations must manage. Our consultants worked with one of the UK’s largest distribution companies to develop a compliance system for their transport depots. The company, which covers over 30 million miles each year, were seeking to implement a compliance system which identified the key legislation applicable to their operations and the procedures in place to ensure compliance.
As the company dealt with a variety of UK regulators – Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, local authorities – it was important to ensure that any compliance system encompassed all areas of the business. Our consultants developed a database of legislation and cross referenced the internal procedures which the company adopted to ensure they stayed within the law.
Where gap analysis identified further controls were required, our team helped develop new procedures in consultation with managers and operational staff.
