Appointing a Competent Person

As an employer, you must appoint a competent person or people to help you meet your health and safety legal duties.  Specifically, regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires employers to appoint one or more competent persons to assist on health and safety measures required to comply with statutory duties.
